Mini Melissa

Ever since I saw these at Epaulet in Brooklyn I’ve been vying to get them for my little girl.  How super cute are these jellies designed in conjunction with brazilian plastic shoe designer Melissa and fashion designer Vivienne Westwood.  It seems that they run from baby 6 to toddler 10.  Needless, we missed that boat as my dear daughter is a Girls 1. URRGH!  Full disclosure, I just copped a cute pair for myself and had hoped for a mommy and me moment.  In any any event, I definitely know a certain little girl who will certainly be rockin’ these – especially if her Tati has anything to do with it!

Cirque Du Bebe Baby Shower

Here is a preview of a baby shower that was recently styled by Petite-Fete.  Special thanks to: Suzanne who among so many other things helped create, draw  and hand paint the fab photo booth back drop, Susie for brainstorming ideas, day of coordination,  Soleil, our day of clown, who even taught herself to juggle for the event,  Farah for helping me comb the fabric and flower district for just the right trimmings.  More photos of our day of fun and of course the photo booth photographed and blogged about H-E-R-E.  Our photographer for the day was the über talented Melissa Lynn of  Be Imaged Photography.  Melissa is such a pleasure to work with and she totally captured the essence of the day.  Thanks to Sean and Rose for blessing our family with such a great joy.

Cirque de Bebe Sneak Peak

Posting a sneak peak of the invitation suite I designed for a baby shower I am co-hosting.  The shower is for my darling SIL and I am trying not too give too much info away as not spoil any surprises.  I am so overjoyed and excited about having a new baby in the family and the new baby has been the inspiration for lots of creativity.  Since the invites have gone out I can post a little preview.  The invites were designed and  printed silkscreen on plexi to complement a fun vintage circus theme.  The envelopes are a yummy raspberry pink and have been hand addressed in a eye popping white flourish calligraphy.   I searched for perfect vintage postage that would add just the right finish.  Response cards are die cut to look like an admission ticket and the reverse is a mounted fun polka lokta paper  in sparkle hot pink.    There will more sweet deets to come later.

Cyber Shy?

For a long time I was super cyber shy.  I always felt comfort in my anonymity and actually relished an heir of mystery.  In this new era of reality television, facebook, twitter, myspace, hoot suite, tumbler, I mean the list is endless – I’ve found myself subcuming and becoming ever slightly more comfortable with the notion that it’s okay to share a piece of my world.  After 5 years of being camera shy on my website, I’ve replaced the illustrated me about a month ago with actual pictures.   It took a lot of convincing my husband, who will go to great lengths to have any pictures or information about himself listed anywhere on the web taken down.   I agree with him in a lot of ways, and I try to weigh and balance the amount of information I put out there.  I must say though, I’ve gotten a lot of good reception from my clients and I think it all in all was a good decision.  I do draw the line though when in comes to children.  This is my own personal non-judgmental opinion but,  I pause when I see children being plastered all over the web especially on facebook.  So that friends is my public service announcement for the month!:)

Invitations Timeline

When do I mail my wedding invitations?  I think that’s my most asked question.  So here is a cheat sheet to help you figure things out:

Save-the-dates: 5 -10 months ahead

Invitations – 6-12 weeks ahead

When do I order my wedding stationery? Remember your stationery sets the tone for your event – so allow proper time for designing, revisions, printing, and addressing.

Save the date -  1-2 prior to mailing

Invitations – 4-6 months prior to mailing

Corresponding stationery -  1-2 months before the wedding.  Always order 20% more envelopes for proper addressing, don’t forget our place cards, menu cards, programs, favor tags
