Buvette Je T’aime
Okay so now the secret is out for all of New York and beyond to read all about it. Martha Stewart went and discovered Buvette and Chef Jody Williams and now nabbing one of the 10 seats at the bar is going to be hell. I’ve been following chef Jody Williams from Morandi’s to Gottino, and now Buvette. She creates her magic in a tiny jewel box of place where you can find me oft times at the bar or in a dark corner enjoying a glass of Muller Thurgau with one of her many special plates. It’s the perfect place – definitely definitely definitely date night, catch up with the girls, boys spot, roll in for breakfast – its the perfect every occasion place. It’s so special that I am not surprised that Martha had to tell the whole world. It’s so fitting that Martha would choose the February L-O-V-E issue to do a 6 page spread on Buvette. Well Done! If you don’t have plans tonight – just go! Jody will make your Valentines Day just right with her Duck Cassoulet followed by Mousse au Chocolat. I promise you will leave with a smile on your face. I Heart Two Little Red Hens
Last week my daughter celebrated her Sacrament of Reconciliation. We celebrated with a family dinner at home and of course I pondered where will I get her cake from. I knew I wanted it to be sweet and special and immediately thought of Two Little Red Hens. This bakery was introduced to me by a dear friend who lived on the Upper East Side and since then, I would never dare order anywhere else. But of course, I had a flickle heart! Over the years, I’ve ventured off to see what other bakeries have to offer. Oh, I did find tasty ones, pretty ones, moist ones, and everything in between. On this occasion, I decided to go back to my old trusty because I knew they would be no guessing involved - I knew I would get a great cake. I ordered a sour cream chocolate cake, with strawberry buttercream and fresh raspberry fruit filling, with strawberry buttercream frosting, covered with pale pink and white flowers. When I picked up the cake I was floored – it was so so so beautiful – they even added crystal sugar on top so that it was sparkly all over. They actually puree fresh fruit in the buttercream – I literally ate the buttercream without the cake it’s just that good. Two Little Red Hens, I will never cheat on you again!

This is so new and super cool. In its newest ad campaign Coca Cola has printed 150 of the most popular names in the down under. Your name might just be featured on a can of coke somewhere … that is provided that you have a popular name. Somehow, I can almost guarantee that I won’t find a can with my name on it! But anywho, I can’t wait until this hits the US. Until then, visit Coke’s AU facebook page to see if you have been named. The creative behind this ad is none other than Ogilvy Public Relations WorldWide. Thanks to my bestie and Ogilvy exec, I just got the inside scoop.

Every now and again I see something so magical that I get so excited and I can’t wait to share. I almost fell off my chair when I saw this. It’s a cinematograph – not quite a picture but not quiet a video. I just love this. Imagine a moving picture for your wall or on your desk. How Fun! The inventor of this technique is fashion photographer, Jamie Beck and please check out her amazing work at From Me to You blog. For all you creative souls out there, after some quick research I found some in depth tutorials on how to get this affect using a camera with a video feature and photoshop. Get snapping!

Social Tables
For any of us who has had to put a seating chart together we know it can be a harrowing and stressful experience. In comes Social Tables, a website that organizes your seating chart and doubles as a social networking platform. How cool is that! Once the seating is completed, your guest are given access to their assigned table and they can begin to chat with each other even before your event. It’s a great event ice breaker and takes the stress out of who you’ll be sitting next to at your next event. The seating charts are super easy to work with using your contacts from Gmail and Facebook. An added bonus, it integrates well with TheKnot’s tools as well. Social Tables is the brain child of buddies and innovators Matt Tendler and Dan Berger. Kudos to both of you for bringing us that much closer to event planning sanity!
